Kevin Rudolf- I Made It ft. Birdman, Lil Wayne & Jay Sean

This was much much better than I expected. Very reminiscent of the collabo Busta Rhymes did for his last LP. And we get an above average verse from Birdman! man.. I cant remember the last time I said that about a birdman verse...

Anyways.. its pretty good.. single material, definitely.

XV- Me, You (Remix) ft. Freddie Gibbs & Shawn Chrystopher

I was soo tempted to put this in the RH post below.  So very tempted.. but I had to let this breathe by itself.  This song brings together the diversity of XV, Freddie Gibbs outta Indiana and a left-coaster in the Chrystoper cat.  It's a dope remix to the original XV track produced by Seven.  I really hope this XV dude clears up his label mess and drops The Kid With The Greenpack  ASAP.  Like.. tomorrow, lol.

[3]

Lucky number 3?

hmm...

Blame One- Dream Sequence Revenge ft. Fashawn & Exile (mp3)
*This shit right here.. is crazy.  Produced by GODlee Barnes.. which is Blu.. for those of you slow cats.  Lyrical stuff that'll go way over your head on the first listen.  Exile is an excellent producer.. but he's not bad on the mic either.  This is lava.  Straight lava.*

J. Cole- Playground (mp3)
*For the record.. I dont think I've heard J.Cole put out a wack song yet.  I'm dead ass serious.  His subject matter might be getting a bit repetitive at this point, but really.. he's got a bright.. bright future.  Gotta love the dude Elite for liberating this previously unreleased joint.  In reality, J.Cole has always been hot.. he will receive a pull pass and immediate post to this blog in the future, on GP.  Bet on that.*

Blame One- Past Your Thoughts ft. Johaz (mp3)
*Another cut off the recently dropped "Leaks & Gems" mixtape.  Can't ask for a better flow.  Really can't.  Dude did his thing with the feature too.. I mean.. I hip hop needs to move in this direction.  It really does.*

The Knux- Floozy (mp3)
*Dope track from this really obscure group out of the CA.  I mean.. just listening to this and not knowing anything about these two.. I can hear this on the radio.  I can hear it being played tomorrow and it being some sort of hit.  Love the production behind it, too.*

Illecism- Bang Bros (mp3)
*This shit is fucking hilarious.  The sped up, looped snoop dogg sample is fucking epic.  The lyrics in this are ridiculous.  You do not hear shit like this anywhere in the game.. anywhere.  On point though, don't get it twisted.. they loop lyrics around a theme brilliantly.*

Blame One- Glass House (mp3)
*I love songs like this.  I can't get enough of rappers reflecting on what they've become and where they're coming from through the rap business.  Just gotta listen to they lyrics and vibe to what dude is saying.  Can't find a reason to hate on this.  I like how he looped the subject matter.  Very well done.*

Lite-  My Girl (mp3)
*Most of you that come here will think shit is weak.  Im posting this for one reason, and one reason.. its hella relevant to me right now.  Besides that.. its a "cute" little song, if you may.  I mean... its nothing like any of the other hardcore spit bar after bar stuff that's on this site.  Who knows.. it may surprise you.*

Illecism- Crash Course (mp3)
*I would label this song as the following: r. kelly's trapped in the closet meets j. cole's dreams.. with a little bit of obscure OutKast flare mixed in.  now.. im not sure that's actually an accurate description, but that's all I could think about listening to the storyline.

Lite- The Feeling (mp3)
*Great storytelling.  A beat that fits and isnt overpowering.  Literally music to my ears in this track.  Hip-Hop at its finest.*

Benamin- The Only Constant x Lex (mp3)
*I'm posting this on the strength of the hook.  That is all.*

Rain- Come Home To Me (mp3)
*By no means is this a new track.  Actually, its far more than a few months old.  I'm putting this up on the strength that its a J. Cole produced track.  Yes.. that J. Cole.  Besides, that Rain is beyond dope.. and its good to see these cats from NC try to come up in the game alongside each other.*

...and that's all I got for you at this second folks.

N.O.R.E.- Exhibit CNN [Exhibit C Freestyle]

This is the one and only Exhibit C freestyle you'll see on this blog.  This guy.. he gets it.  Perfect subject matter/flow for a beat like this.. definitely gives it justice unlike other cats.

Jay Elect-tra/Megatron Don/I merked it

Nore- Exhibit CNN (mp3)

Video Update..

They came through with some visuals of the freestyle session...

..on another note.. dont expect to see the video for Lil Wayne- On Fire here... that shit is utter trash.

...coming up next is the RH post

Joe Budden- Money's On Me

Yo, this shit is a certified heatrock. Production behind it is just.. great. Its a J. Cardim track.. just to get you nice and ready for The Great Escape which, considering Budden's recent track record.. should be a pretty good listen.

Rick Ross- Maybach Music 2.5 ft. Pusha T & T-Pain [Music Video]

its really funny.. how this drops.. and there isnt even a video for maybach music 2... or the original, for that matter.. To that I say, the following. ... ...huh?

Mos Def- History ft. Talib Kweli [Music Video]

One of the better tracks off Mos Def's "The Estatic"

Papoose- '09 Obituary

Im gonna put this frankly.  I don't care what you say, this shit it dope.  Papoose always does real well with songs like this, though, Im not really a fan of using the 2Pac sample. That is all.

...more to come tomorrow.

[2]

As stated before.  This will be heavily concentrated on some mixtapes that just dropped... So, here we go.

Kendrick Lamar- Let Me Be Me (mp3)
*What we have here, is the self proclaimed good kid that just wants to rap.  His voice may be annoying as fuck, but I've got to give it to him, he's not wack.  He just wants you to embrace his lyricism and eventually give him a chance.  This is a nice little track.. I'll be sure to check his next mixtape when it drops.*

Mickey Factz- Contemplations Of Kings (mp3)
*Can't really hate on a song like this.   Simply put.. this is what happens when you've got a real artist go through some label drama, puts pen to paper, and has the balls to record.  Can't blame him for the message he's trying to put out though.*

Kendrick Lamar- Wanna Be Heard (mp3)
*Drops bombs all over this shit.  Really cool writing.. a very dope concept.  Very good use of metaphors, to go along with an excellently ridden beat.  This one's a keeper, for me, at least.*

Young Buck- Happy New Year (mp3)
*You know.. I'm not really a fan of diss track anymore.  Nor am I fan of G-Unit, or Young Buck, but I must say.. I kinda like this song.  It's not overpowering or overly aggressive, he just says what he needs to say, and get out.  I mean.. his career is over.. G-Unit is dead.. just let the man live.  Here you go buck.. here's your shine.*

Mistah Fab- Been A While (mp3)
*The placement of this sample.. the backing beat behind it.. FAB's flow.. all things of beauty on this one right here.  Not exactly a rapper I would have expected to spit over a sped up sample like this but.. man.. I can jam to this all day and night just reflecting back..*

Clipse- Hello New World ft. Pharrell (mp3)
*First of all.. I don't know what the hell Pharrell is trying to do on the hook.  It doesnt exactly.... work.  But that's OK.  Just half of Clipse on this, but damn, does it matter?  Perfect flow..  typical.*

Mickey Factz- Sunrise (mp3)
*Epic lead in.. sets the scene for an amazing story over a laid back beat.  Straight lyrics.  Really feeling the awkward delivery rhymescheme and flow-pattern on this one.  It gets pretty emotional, and I am okay with that.*

Charles Hamilton- Baby Says I Want (mp3)
*Really have to hand it to this kid.  He drops like 80 mixtapes in 3 month... commits some serious industry fuckery.. takes some times off.. and come back just some dope at all.  I don't know if he'll ever catch on as an MC, even though he's unquestionably dope.. but damn this is a well produced song.*

Rich Kidd- So Much More ft. Colin Munroe & Saukrates (mp3)
*The best way to describe what goes on this song is as follows:  Gully MC spitting dope lyrics about his come up in life... contrasting hook with by an artist who probably lived a privileged life, singing about.. well striving to be more in life.. excellent, not too complex beat.  You decide.*

Charles Hamilton- She's Purrty (mp3)
*LOL.  That's all I have to say.  LOL at the story of this.  LOL at the auto-tuned chorus.  LOL @ the song in general.  But why am I posting it?  The exquisitely looped sample in the back.. and the ridiculous lyrics.. mainly.  Charles is talented.

...and that's it for the night. its 3am.

Jay-Z - On To The Next One ft. Swizz Beatz [Music Video]

Interesting.
